Interesting. When I GOOGLE the line, the resulting link takes me here.
When I YAHOO the line (in an attempt to bump it to the "Trending Now" list), the link takes me to "When Liberals Attack"

Go Google.

lemmein, I'm guess scott set something in motion that will come into fruition on that date and he just wanted to give his attentive readers a heads up.

Honestly it seems a little too specific in nature because all people with knowledge (not just engineers) should help to stamp out ignorance. However on some issues, it's hard to tell which side the ignorant ones are. Particularly on subjective issues where by nature, you can't easily objectify them and quantify them. Some people might be winning the scientific debate today, but in 100 years, the people we thought were the right ones might really end up to be the ignorant ones.

Take paleontology. Originally dinosaurs were viewed as active creatures, much like today's animals. Then people, scientists included, started to view them as more lizard-like and very sluggish and it wasn't until people like Bakker came around that the correct idea of them became popular again. As time passes, it seems more and more science backs that up.

I thought teachers were all about stamping out ignorance. And engineers were about making stuff work.

Concern for common good? Rather than just voicing aggravation, though, Schultz has decided to do something about this. He has promised to quit donating to political campaigns until things are more to his liking. Schultz is trying to encourage other companies to do the same thing. Related article I read entitled: Howard Schultz drops political figures off at the wallet . A goal in solving economic issues.

October 14th? Does this have anything to do with that comet that's supposed to (not) strike Earth a couple days later?

@Zuluwarrior: Well, there are mostly different grays and then you have the sperm whale that is white and black. If you are thinking of the "Blue Whale", it is actually not blue in real life.

But to be honest, I'm not an expert of whales. Like most Norwegians I just attend whale hunting occationally for recreational purposes.

That's a little too zealotinous (sic) for my taste. I'd prefer, It is the Solemn Duty of Engineers to Seek Verification through Experimentation.

It is the solemn duty of smart people to stamp out ignorance. Many engineers are not smart. Many smart people are not engineers.

But all engineers must be ignorant of at least one thing since no one has absolute knowledge.

Therefore engineers must stamp themselves out.

Can't ignore it. I'm supposed to stamp out ignorance.

Wrong,

Ignorance is my major form of amusement. My second is to make fun of the ignoramuses comments to other engineers. My third is to hear my fellow engineers' comments on ignorance. My fourth...
