In Germany parents can decide which one gets a leave - thus it's called parental leave.

Jimson>That's really not true. While men can not receive maternity leave, as they are not the materal parent. Many companies offer convelescent leave or paternity leave to new fathers to assist in the care of their wife while she recovers from giving birth.
