Actually, the question does not limit the result to the primates within said room. Ones physical location and proximity to monkeys has no substantial impact on which primate is the smartest.

Since this seems to be a very difficult puzzle, there are four primates in the room. Three monkeys and a human. The human is the smartest primate. Not the stick monkey, and not the banana monkey. I guess reading Dogbert's line was too difficult?
