I am so envious on the people that commented until now. You obviously don't live in places where people regularly beat their children make them go to churches. Or where apostasy is not sanctioned with death penalty or a trip to the madhouse. Or where you don't get kill if you don't pray to the right god.
Peregrine: I wish it were that simple, but when you tell someone that not believing in a religion results in suffering and death, and if that person believes it, then it goes beyond a simple matter of choice. Not that many folks don't wake up, grow out of it or whatever, but religion is still an effort to control how others think and act.
