I have noticed there is a pattern on this thread of every other comment getting voted poorly, since the last comment was voted well it seems that people are now not wanting to post in this spot. So, in the interest of this thread continuing I will sacrifice myself, I ask no thanks, only that I am not voted into oblivion in vain, and that those after me comment without fear.

Hmmm...the "dumb comment" you just answered got a 1 while yours got -8 and -17...I don't think the rule applies if the answerer is acting like a jerk.
