I have to agree that this site is not an improvement over the previous site. It is much slower, It is more difficult to find previous strips and the strips are not posted as early as they used to be. Change is not always better.

It's been a long time since i last saw something good fixed to something soooo bad... I can't actually remember when I did. Ok, it doesn't look bad, the new site, and i like the new content, animation and all. But this is all the good i can say about it.
First of all, it is slow. So very slow. And when it finally loaded, the pain starts. God forbid you want to see an older strip. And if you want to search for it, not knowing the exact date it was released, you are doomed. Don't even think to save the strip on your local machine, unless you are as good an IT engineer as Dilbert is. You can however find the GIF image, if you look in the page source, it will be at an URL looking something like this:
http://www.dilbert.com//dyn/str_strip/000000000/00000000/0000000/000000/00000/5000/500/5649/5649.strip.print.gif
Now that's scary...

I don't know what pointy haired boss came with this bright idea for bling, but i think you forgot who the readers are: busy people, usually with an IT background, or at least with some knowledge in the field, who don't need all the extra hassle added to their day just to read a comic strip, no meter how good it is. I can see this is the beta version of the new site, so I'm not really angry right now, but please, please, PLEASE make the old version available for us until the beta phase is completed.

Again, I can't stress enough how much usability meters more to us than good looks and mangled features

The login system on the site sucks. I have to login everytime I go to the site, sometimes after submitting a mashup I have to login, and just now I logged in to leave a comment and then had to login twice. Secondly, the flash widget around the comic just pisses me off. It loads the image underneath giving me just enough time to read half way through the last panel before it disappears and doesn't reappear for a few more seconds. I'd rather it didn't appear at all until it was going to stay there, but even better would be if the flash loaded it and displayed it then loaded everything around it. Stick to drawing comics. monkey boy! I do like the color though.

Saving GIFs is easier than that. Go to STRIPS. Below the flash of the current day are GIF images for the most recent days. In IE, just left click and Save Picture As.

Some people just find it hard to adapt Jto change. Just ask Wally.
