Says it all about ambulance-chasing lawyers. We get them in Great Britain, too: they tend to advertise on daytime TV for the hard-of-thinking (inDUHviduals) and in the sort of daily newspaper that requires minimal brainpower or critical thought (they're owned in GB by the same people, well, person, who owns FOX-TV in the USA).
Vulture lawyers like ClaimsDirect encourage people to use them to sue if they trip over a crack in the pavement and graze their knee and use high-impact advertising to build sales. "What? Nobody told you coffee was HOT and you burnt yourself? Come to Claims Direct and sue the cafe!"
What the advertising DOESN'T tell the inDUHvidual is that Claims Direct will skim a whopping 70% off the top of any compensation you earn. I mean, think about it. If you're rich enough to have an accountant, or talented enough to have a theatrical/literary agent, they only skim 10-15%, right? So - why do the bloody lawyers take 70%, unless they're banking on the thick inDUHvidual not knowing they've been ripped off..
