As I recall, Scott Adams is a vegetarian. Maybe he's decided to deprive his subjects (I mean cartoon characters) of real food too.

Well, actually they DID receive a bailout--of $25 billion, which Dogbert kept as a bonus. So, nobody (except Dogbert) received any benefit from the government. Anyhow, we ought to know for sure if some of the characters' faces begin to cave in, and their clothing starts to hang noticeably.

I'm not sure about the weight loss being an implication of reduced income, especially in the US. Remember that most Americans have to spend more to be fit (gym membership, weight-loss programs, coach fees, etc) while junk foods are fairly cheap (compare that with the mostly expensive organic produce and vegan restaurants.)

Or maybe Dilbert's company has just received bailout money... and behold how it's spent. ;)

"Hmmm .... have both Dilbert and the PHB lost weight or thinned up a bit?"
Yes, bad economy = tighter belts. Asok will be a skeleton soon!

Methinks that should there be an indication of sunken cheeks and saggy clothing in the coming months, we'll know for sure...
