What happens at my workplace is similar to this. Here, the powerful upper managers delegate to the untalented middle managers, who then further delegate to staff with actual skills. However, thanks to constant meddling by our inept middle managers and a total lack of resources, failure is achieved...but the staff with actual skills take the fall for it.

So what's happened to the typeface on the mashups?

The font that appears when you're typing is much smaller (and upper/lower case) than the handwriting font that finally appears - leading to type enlarging on the final thing and over running the drawings and becoming unreadable.

Needs fixing.

Let's apply the Dilbert Principle instead:
The untalented will delegate the responsibility but insist on complete oversight of all details (none of which they understand). Failure is achieved from the business side, and a couple of engineers may even go insane

Defense contractors will especially know what I'm talking about (dealing with the government).
