reminds me of when I was on a jury a couple of yrs ago - the prosecutor didn't present enough to convict on a "theft by deception" charge over an $80K burlap sack (a.k.a. old baseball uniform) but we (the jury) weren't allowed to tell the defense "WHOA! just rest & save us all a bunch of time..." so we had to sit through another day & 1/2 of testimony from their experts on the history of baseball, baseball memorabelia collecting & recent advances in baseball memorabelia authentication - can a jury claim cruel & unusual punishment?
