This very funny comic is as much about Dilbert's inept social skills as anything. Often very clever people (like engineers) have other dimensions that are very lacking.
Being able to laugh at ourselves (having some self realisation of our own inadequacies) is a good thing and is far better than laughing at others.
I am a huge, long-time, Dilbert fan, but this one was just plain cold. Right now there are many talented people that have been downsized. Yes, companies do cut weak employees first, but in my case I was cut on the fourth layoff and my company has let go more than half the employees. The ones that remain hold essential jobs to help the company survive.
The people posting comments supporting this strip don't understand. I would welcome an apology.
