Where I work, we don't call them "mentoring sessions" but rather "coachings." I guess the theory is that calling it something different will fool everyone, but it's still being told how to do things by an inept pile of carbon in a cheap suit.

That is so very true of ANY government agency! Just ask my wife (a social worker) what she thinks of those idiots working in the state office. (Over paid, Under competent) Unfortunate.
And we wonder why nothing ever gets done (by the Government mules)
If you speak up and it is a good idea they will forget they didn't think of it themselves, and if you try to point out that it was actually your idea... well got to get rid of this one he doesn't tow the line.
Playing possum at meetings is a good strategy, unless you can make it count.
