When you say: "the secret of succeeding with this 'disorder' is to acquire the wisdom to turn it into a quality and use it to your advantage" maybe part of the disorder is to beleive that you have wisdom and you can turn it into a quality???

To be honest, I recognize a bit of myself in that cartoon and I'm sure a few others would as well if they'd only admit it ;) But I would say, the secret of succeeding with this 'disorder' is to acquire the wisdom to turn it into a quality and use it to your advantage. Any profession involving public speaking is a good outlet for such persons and only frustrated potential such as is caricatured here turns it into a true disorder...

Wally's comment is _part_ of the diagnosis. Axis II disorders really do involve the inability to discern the dysfunctional behavior in oneself, or recognize the dysfunction. "Inane Personality Disorder"! DSM-V, here we come!
