I just emailed this strip to our purchasing dept. They still think an adding machine is a computer and it's going to stay that way until we go out of business. We will keep going as long as we continue to prey on the bottom ten percent of customers who find efficiency an anathema.
The subject of this strip rings so true... It's so aggravating when you have to deal with clients who insist sending documents with pictures stuff via fax, because they can't figure out how to use a scanner or won't admit they can't use a computer!!!
Seriously, I've been charging extra to send paper documents and faxes. It's just too much of a waste of time and resources. Paper gets torn, lost or otherwise decays. PDFs stay exactly the same as when they were first produced and can easily be backed up everywhere.
I try to explain my reasons for despising paper using this simple picture: my portable hard drive holds the equivalent of 30 kilometers thick of paper documents, didn't destroy a small forest doing so and doesn't require a warehouse to store.
