I honestly wasn't too crazy about this week's strips. However, I patiently waited for Scott to get to his punchline, and was rewarded with today's strip.
Of course Asok is correct, there is not only no scientific basis for homeopathy, but there is no evidence for it.
Any journal articles that seem to support it tend to have inappropriate blinding, small sample sizes, suffer from cherry picking of data, and poor controls. The best evidence from the largest, best controlled, studies shows that homeopathy is no better than placebo.
Imagine that: water containing no pharmacologically active substance is the same as placebo.
