Public speaking is not that difficult provided a) You can start off with something lightly humorous and off-topic b) The audience is least bothered about what you have to say and no one's out to question your slides and elongate your presentation!

Aw, c'mon, guys! It's Summer! It's supposed to be just plain old FUN...Besides, it's well known that engineers are naturally shy and reserved (except within their peer group, of course)
