No, the 'Wizard of Oz' plotline was the closest they came. When Mr Adams violated the 'Third wall' and got trapped in the strip, he had to find the wonderful Wizard of Landfill to get out. The coffee powered tin Wally was one of his group.

notice the similarities between the garbage man and Wally....the same button nose, same ear with the three hairs above it....creepy....my theory, the garbage man IS Wally
