At least they HAVE a file naming convention. My shop uses whatever they pull out of their, errrr, the thin air. No telling what is production or test. Plus they don't clean up for diddly either. We have tons of dead files laying around looking as though they might actually be useful to new hires and the otherwise unaware. The hazards of a computer shop that had the same exact staff for close to forty years.

I only had one filing system: "When did you send it?" and I'd look up the email.

In the last panel, the central character's admission was enough to make Wally put down his coffe cup and look surprised. Perhaps he assumed that the meeting got NO work done at all, as per the usual....

nelkins is right. The format "20110423-whatever" is the best. Then all your files automatically line up by date, no matter the years/months.
