If this guy is like most sales people I have dealt with, all Dilbert needs to do to cool the vendor's ardor is just get PHB to sign the contract. After that, Dilbert would probably find it difficult to even get an answer to his phone calls.
Well, Dilbert can't seem to get a date otherwise, this may be his best bet. He doesn't need to play for the other team (do engineers even HAVE a team?) to have someone tend to his needs. Not saying I'd take that option, but then, I'm not an engineer. Just sayin' ...
