If it had been the equivalent of Wally in my organization, he would have asked me to check after an hour or so. Then he would VANISH and become untraceable. His computer would malfunction. The cleaning staff would mistakenly throw away the papers you gave him. He would have been called by the Top Boss for some urgent work that was required by the Parliament in session. ..... etc.

Well, "You attitude" will not help if Wally's only work is to avoid any work.

Wally used to work for the NFL but he was fired for moving the goal posts all the time.
