I'm not a fan of golf but I'm not a fan of video games either. While a golf course is not exactly the "real world" a video game seems even more escapist. It seems there has always been a glimmer of optimism in Dilbert that shines despite him being repeatedly knocked down. But here it's just all dour pessimism. He sounds an awful lot like Wally here. Kinda sad.

Golf; just as boring in real life as it is on computer and at least the computer it won't rain or have a chilly breeze. Also on a computer you don't have to feign interest in the other people's lives who you're golfing with since golf itself is actually boring and just an excuse to go socialize with other people, more intelligent people might figure out there are chat rooms, pubs, bars, better sports, better events... some just stick to golf where idiot bosses hang out together. oh did I mention that golf is boring?

Sorry, but Dilbert has (in British slang) "previous" here. There was a strip years ago where he was out on a walk with a date and he was reading a manual on a computer golf game - specifically the section on how to drive the cart...
