Our X-treme PHBs here have adopted a novel form of "multitasking." They force all of us to "rotate" between several different jobs. While frequently changing procedures, of course! We used to be doing this weekly, which was bad enough. Now they have us doing one job for 1/2 the day, then another for the other half, and tomorrow will likely be something totally different. Why play to a person's strengths or talents when you can treat them them like a bolt, screw or other interchangeable part?
Then they wonder why morale is so low and the quality and quantity of work has gone through the floor. What I'd LIKE to do is buy a couple of mirrors and inscribe them "The reason things are so f****d up at *********" and send them to the responsible PHBs.
Multitasking - messing up two jobs at the one time.
Multitasking is not good. When someone tells me they can, I remind them its like texting while driving in heavy traffic. Look how that ends up with a slip of concentration.
