To me is (because of the pause):
"I never bother to think of a reason, I just wanted to do something that will make people think that I am relevant. So instead of questioning what I say, just do it."
Of course it could also be:
"I don't want any of my underlings figure out that I do now know what the hell I am doing. After all I just study ventriloquism and puppetry. So I will just move them from their job to another so they keep busy catching up with their work, so the secret of my incompetence is safe. Next year, I will do the same."
What does the CEO mean:
1): "You are thinking to much about this matter."
2): "Think again, and you find out."
3): "You dare to question my decision?"
4): "Take it easy, but take it."
5): "I don't know, I just do it."
6): ... or something else ...
