Where I use to work, the first thing the PHB did was bring you in and tell you that you were just a can of beans. We got you off the shelf and we can get another one just like you whenever we want. He really had a way of unmotivating the best people. The company was Kodak. Remember them? Wonder what went wrong...

This reminds me when Google offered to buy the company for the engineers. CEO's and PHB's are modern day slave traders. The trick is to never let the slaves know that they are slaves.
