As long as we're gettin' retro here (a classically designed robot drinkin' a can of oil and and plotting the demise of the human race? C'mon, what is this, 1955?), can I call him Jumping Jack Flash? 'cause he's gonna get his ya-ya's out and open up a can of whoop@$$ with pool cues and more on the masses before it's all over.

There are no scarce resources. The pie of resources keeps getting bigger and bigger due to greater efficiency and utilisation (we could support twice the population of the world at the moment- provided biofuel don't waste the food). A hyperintelligent robot would realise fighting is counterproductive (a human thing like all the wars). What robots need to use is totally different from humans- working together is much more effective.
