Except for the fact that the iPhone 4 antenna problem was an engineering issue rather than an industrial design issue, the antenna issue was solved in the subsequent model (iPhone 4s) that happened to have exactly the same industrial design as the 4, they fired the guy responsible for the antenna problems, and Steve Jobs hired one of the the greatest industrial designer alive today - Jony Ive. But other than that, keep believing whatever you want to believe, I guess.
I have a laptop with a wonderfully glossy screen, so glossy in fact that I can only use it effectively in a semi darkened room. I can't use it outside in daylight at all. And per cloddy, amen to that. I spent $1800 on a camcorder that had an actual viewfinder so I could actually use it outdoors during the day. At the time I could have bought one with only a flip out screen for $800, but at least this one can be used anywhere any time. Then there's the coffee machine that has capacitive buttons instead of real ones, I don't have the space here to elaborate. It seems like competent industrial designers have have gone the way of the Dodo.
