Usually it is a gutless PHB who has no skill at confrontation allowing the troublemaker to continue on unabated. If you continue to complain to such a manager about the troublemaker - somehow you become the boat-rocker.

Best to rely on the office version of street justice.

Anyone have examples of such justice?

This is almost as good as corporate surveys rating the honesty of management. To take the
survey you just have to sign on with your signon name and password. Totally anonymous.

My current employer fired the person who never reported the conflict with one colleague rather than the colleague who complained it to management and HR on a thrice weekly basis.

The colleague who remains even had the gall to hum a few bars of Snap's "I've got the power" after the firing was announced.

I've never experienced team morale sinking so fast and expect a lot of departures in the next few months.
