Truth: "The real facts about something." -- Merriam-Webster dictionary.

Unless you are implying that science look up for false facts as well (which would explain much that is happening in the world) the word usage is correct. Just as medics kidnapped the title of "doctor" in the late 1800, philosophers and clergy kidnapped the word truth to mean whatever they want people to think.

alice behavior is how i see most of humanity.

i spent the first 30 years of my life battling ppl at the foot soldier meta level and kicking their ass. Yet i never got any traction.

humans are interested in shiny objects, flair, and loud deep voices. they mostly dont give a damn about what is right, they care about what is politically expedient. they will dogpile on an unpopular person when its unjust and generally cant be bothered with nuance more than 2 facts deep.

which is my basic theory on left-right politics. righties only want 1 fact. lefties only want 2 facts. yet lefties will tell you they have an open-mind and dont have a judgmental streak. its funny business.

A guy walks into a bar and sees a republican and a democrat. He walks over to them and tells them he is a republican. The republican says "You're a great American!" based on this one fact. The guy then tells them he just statutory raped a teenager. The democrat says "Did she consent?", holding out judgment till he knows *ALL* the facts. The guy says yes. Then the democrat says "you are a great american". The republican then asks "Who's teenager was it?", the guy responds "it was the democrats' daughter". To which the democrat says "you're alright!".

Roman Polanski is the darling of leftists. They cannot bear more than 2 levels deep, at which point they become just as judgmental and closeminded as republicans.

How far to the center of a tootsie pop?

This is a bittersweet comic. On the one hand, I laughed a lot about it. On the other hand, the comic is only funny because many, many people behave just like that - even scientists and engineers, hence Alice is pictured here, not the PHB.

Perhaps Alice hasn't had her morning coffee yet, or worse, the coffee machine is broken, in that case we are going to hear from Wally shortly, at which point Dilbert will take a long lunch which takes the rest of the day....lessee how many minus numbers I get with this one....

[the unreasonable man sleep on the couch. You can be right, or you can be married. Choose carefully.]

This is one of many reasons I chose not to have ever gotten married.
