@ joanpa Dilbert is an insane optimist. He keeps hoping this time someone will react logically to his sensible suggestions. All things considered, he's gotta be nut to hope for something so impossible.

There's no way Dilbert didn't see the CEO's response coming. I think he just made his suggestion to get the expected response for the amusement of his co-workers.

I remember working on the Yearbook Committee in high school when a guy made a suggestion that would make it easier for students to get the yearbook without buying the entire 'activities ticket' that provided a lot of junk that only a small percentage of students would want. It would be a nice cost savings. The teachers reply? "Does anyone have a suggestion that isn't ridiculous?" No kidding. That was 1969 and it was word perfect to what DHB said here. They break your spirit at an early age.

@mikea105 - I have a relative whose co-workers have a saying: "Move up - move out" Turns out that in twenty years of service they have seen some 62 managers leave after relatively short stints in the position. So much for the joys of the American workplace....
