I wonder whether there were ever doable demands here, and if so, between which pair of frames they fitted. If not, I wonder if not caring is the right response.

Don't ask intelligent questions either. The result will be the same.

Well, he cared enough to ask, but that's as far as he can go.

Huh? <tao54nyc>, Do you have some definition of the word "bag" that the rest of us are unaware of? I checked several dictionaries, both online and my trusty Oxford - 'the' definitive dictionary of the English Language. None of them say that a bag is only made from paper (hence the phrase "a paper bag", to specify that it's not cloth or other material). I am not going to type in what's in the paper dictionary, but here's a definition from dictionary.com, which is a pretty good source:

bag [noun]

1. a container or receptacle of leather, plastic, cloth, paper, etc., capable of being closed at the mouth; pouch.

2. something resembling or suggesting such a receptacle.

3. a suitcase or other portable container for carrying articles, as in traveling.

4. a purse or moneybag.

Not to be picky in language use....but TECHNICALLY...a "bag" is made of paper. A "sack", OTOH, is made of cloth. So the correct term is "burlap SACK full of starving rats".
